An SEO dashboard that explains what changed and what to do next
A dashboard is only useful if it ends an argument. The WindspeedSEO SEO dashboard leads with what changed against the previous period, why it matters commercially, and which three things are worth doing about it — with the underlying evidence one click away.

Most SEO dashboards answer the wrong question
They answer “what are the numbers?”. That question has never been hard — Search Console answers it for free. The question that is hard, and the one people actually open a dashboard hoping to resolve, is “is this good, and what should we do?”
Answering it requires three things a chart alone cannot supply: a comparison window so change is visible, commercial context so relevance can be judged, and a ranking so attention goes to the right place. The WindspeedSEO dashboard is organized around supplying all three.

Representative development data for a fictional example website.
1. Executive summary
The period verdict in one line, with the single most important risk and the single biggest win called out by name.
2. Trends
Clicks, impressions, CTR and position over time with the previous period overlaid, so seasonality is visible rather than mistaken for performance.
3. Pages and queries
Movement decomposed to the landing pages and queries responsible, which is where a headline number becomes a decision.
4. Opportunities
Ranked content, on-page and technical opportunities with the evidence attached and an expected effort band.
5. Technical health
Indexability, status codes, canonicals, robots rules, sitemap integrity and performance, with open findings tied to affected URLs.
6. Actions
What is in progress and what has been QA-verified as complete. On Insights this shows recommendations issued rather than work performed.
Design decisions that make it readable
Every number has a comparison. A figure without a previous period is trivia. The dashboard never shows a bare metric.
Status is never color alone. Improving, declining and stable states carry a text label and a direction indicator as well as a color, so the dashboard remains usable for people with color vision deficiencies and legible in a printed report.
Numbers are tabular. Metrics use tabular figures so columns line up and a change in magnitude is visible at a glance rather than through careful reading.
Recent changes are marked as unjudgeable. A change shipped four days ago is labeled too recent to evaluate rather than quietly folded into the verdict.

Frequently asked questions
What should an SEO dashboard show?
Six things, in this order: a verdict for the period, headline metrics with period-over-period comparison, the pages and queries responsible for the movement, prioritized opportunities, technical health, and the actions in progress. Anything that does not help answer “what changed and what do we do?” is decoration.
Where does the dashboard data come from?
Clicks, impressions, CTR and position come from your read-only Google Search Console connection. Sessions, engagement and conversions come from Google Analytics 4. Performance comes from PageSpeed and CrUX. Technical health comes from continuous external checks. Keyword, competitor and backlink context comes from bounded paid providers.
Every figure is timestamped so you can see how current it is.
How current is the data in the dashboard?
It depends on the source, and the dashboard tells you rather than implying everything is live. Google Search Console data carries Google’s own reporting lag of a couple of days. Analytics is close to current. Technical checks run frequently. Paid intelligence refreshes on a bounded schedule because each refresh has a real cost.
Can I see which pages caused a change in traffic?
Yes — that is the main job of the pages-and-queries view. A movement in the headline number is decomposed into the specific landing pages and queries responsible, so you can distinguish a broad seasonal shift from one commercial page losing its position.
Is the dashboard available on both plans?
Yes. The full dashboard, including trends, pages and queries, opportunities and technical health, is available on Insights and Managed Automation. The difference is the actions view: on Managed Automation it shows work in progress and QA-verified completions, because WindspeedSEO is performing that work.
Can I export or share what the dashboard shows?
The period report is the shareable artifact, and it is generated from the same data with a written narrative on top. It is designed to be forwarded to somebody who will not log in — see the sample report for the full structure.
Does the dashboard show AI search visibility too?
Yes, as a first-class signal alongside classic search performance, with the caveat stated: AI visibility is measured from a repeatable query set and reflects sampled observation rather than a guaranteed view of every answer every user sees.
